Catie Payne writes, draws, podcasts and pleads with goats in Dja Dja Wurrung Country, Central Victoria.

You can usually find her up a tree or in the shrubbery, straining to hear a bird.

Once upon a time she was a naturopath and to this day consumes dark green liquid of herbal origin almost exclusively.

She has ghostwritten health and wellness books, co-hosted the Futuresteading podcast, dreamed up zines with permie elders and crafted radio jingles for Dan Murphy’s (please don’t drink to that).

Catie now hosts the Reskillience podcast — in spite of her bookish nature and in service of nature — where she is joined by all kinds of fascinating humans fomenting change.

Retiring from fifteen years as a copywriter in 2026 (though you can still catch her penning the RetroSuburbia newsletter for the legendary David Holmgren), Catie has returned to her roots as a blogger, sends a personal missive on the half moon, posts to Instagram in moments of weakness, and pours love into the Reskillience community on Patreon.
